passionandpurpose.info is a place of exploration for finding a passion and purpose for one’s life. It’s founded on the firm conviction that there is a passion and purpose for every person. But finding it usually isn’t so easy: it takes time, patience, persistence, willingness to explore and question, encouragement and honesty from friends and family, the wisdom of a community, and prayer.
God speaks to us in prayer. Prayer is a way of centering one’s life on God and listening to one’s life—hearing what God might be saying through those experiences in life that show us who we are and who we are becoming through God’s gracious initiative and loving care of our lives. God speaks to us through experiences and events that offer moments of insight and understanding about what we enjoy doing, what we’re good at, and what the world needs. God also speaks to us through the Church, through communities of people who get to know us and help us to listen for God’s call to us.
As you seek your passion and purpose you will encounter words like “call,” “vocation,” and “discernment.” These terms are rooted deeply in Christian tradition, which has a long and rich history in these matters. A dictionary can supply their meanings, but it can’t substitute for those relationships that support, guide and challenge us when we are seeking. We’re confident that as you explore the resources available through passionandpurpose.info you’ll also encounter a living community that will help you find wisdom for your life and hear more clearly God’s call to you.
